Tom & Chee Announces Fundraising Initiative to Benefit Local Nonprofits

New program to see up to 20% of online orders for curbside pickup, carry-out and dine-in donated to community-based organizations

Cincinnati – The spirit of giving and helping others has always been strong throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. Now, Cincinnati’s favorite place for melts, soups and grilled cheese donuts, Tom & Chee, is giving back to the community once again with its new One Day Online Fundraising Initiative at all four Greater Cincinnati Tom & Chee restaurant locations.

Lighthouse Youth & Family Services will kick off the initiative as Tom & Chee’s first partner on Tuesday, June 23 and funds raised will support the organization’s mission of empowering young people and families to succeed through a continuum of care that promotes healing and growth. Community members can give back by simply ordering online for curbside pickup, carry-out or dine-in service from Tom & Chee’s Court Street, Newport, Anderson Township and West Chester locations and up to 20% of sales will be donated back to the nonprofit.

“Every day, nonprofits across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are working tirelessly to support our communities, even throughout the coronavirus pandemic,” said Tom & Chee president and CEO Roger David. “Most of them are not immune to the budget difficulties other organizations and families face because of the economic fallout of this virus. We feel it’s our duty to help them in any way we can so they can continue the critical, vital work they’re doing to support our neighbors and the larger community.”

“We invite our guests – the heart and soul of Tom & Chee – to join us in this delicious give-back initiative to ensure these valuable organizations are able to continue their mission to serve so many in need,” David said.

In addition to Lighthouse Youth & Family Services, Tom & Chee will support Sew Masks 4 Cincy on Wednesday, June 24; Maslow’s Army on Tuesday, June 30; and Cincinnati Children’s on Wednesday, July 1. More partners will be announced in the coming weeks, and the initiative will run through Wednesday, Aug. 26.

“We’re so grateful to Tom & Chee for helping the young people and families that Lighthouse serves,” said Jessica Wabler, Vice President of Development & Grants at Lighthouse Youth Services. “During these incredibly difficult times, this support is appreciated more than words can say. The funds raised through the event will be used to provide meals and other basic needs to homeless young people that are currently staying in our shelters.”

Supporters of the participating nonprofits can give back in the following ways by ordering from Tom & Chee’s Court Street, Newport, Anderson Township and West Chester locations:

  1. Guests can preorder online before the given fundraiser date for curbside pickup, carry-out or dine-in service and Tom & Chee will donate 20% of the total order to that day’s nonprofit partner.
  2. Guests can also order online the day of the fundraiser and Tom & Chee will donate 15% of the total order to the nonprofit partner of the day.
    1. Orders must be placed online but can choose curbside pickup, carry-out or to dine-in at any Greater Cincinnati restaurant.
    2. Visit https://www.tomandchee.com/fundraising to nominate a regional nonprofit as a future partner and stay up-to-date on the initiative.
